Took River to the zoo today. While they were turning off the lights in Tropical Discovery, my daughter sang a lullaby to the crocodile.
I think, much as I have reserved Wednesday nights consistently for intensive work on my novel, I will reserve Sunday afternoons for outings with River. She needs more time that’s just about her (rather than her and sister), and I think that if I don’t do the fatherhood thing as well as I can, successes in other areas of my life count for little. So, with the exception of a few convention days in the year, Sundays are for River. And always will be.
